Everyday they work in many areas, making sure that Bertrand products are well-known and valued, “after hours” they pursue their sometimes truly unique interests. Our employees hide various interesting passions, which we learn about, among others, by creating our #peopleofbertrand project or simply by talking. This is exactly what happened in the case of our colleague from the PVC hall, who, as he proves on his social media, can say more than one thing about different corners of our continent.

Sergei has been part of Bertrand for more than 5 years and this is his first, and as he points out, he hopes his last professional job. He is very fond of his work, which includes preparing individual PVC profiles and entire deliveries, checking product quality, organizing products, shipping and more. He also appreciates the good atmosphere and acquaintances he made during his adventure with our company. In his free time, after work, he enjoys playing sports, especially visiting the gym.

All this happens during the week, while on weekends Sergei indulges his passion for traveling. And these are definitely the big ones – as he goes to various corners outside Poland. All this is the way to realize our colleague’s dream of touring at least half of Europe. And it’s safe to say that he’s well on his way to doing so – he’s already been to Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Austria, among others. And he definitely does not intend to stop there.

– I try to go somewhere practically every weekend, I like to visit new places – he says. – Recently I was in a town called Zgorzelec on the Polish side, Görlitz on the German side. I really enjoyed it, it’s a fantastic combination of the cultures of two countries.

As he admits sometimes ideas for future goals come spontaneously, he doesn’t plan “ahead,” more in the perspective of a month or so. All expeditions Sergei organizes on his own – he searches for the necessary information on the Internet. He does not pay particular attention to the means of transportation or the place of accommodation – what matters most to him is to explore as much as possible, to get to know the climate and culture of the place.

Sergei’s travel dream is Iceland, the city of Reykjavik, but also the country’s natural resources. However, when asked where he would like to return to in the future, he cites the city of Trondheim in Norway.

– There is a completely different mentality there than in our Slavic countries – he says. – People have other priorities, even if they are rich – they tend not to show it. They can wear simple, modest clothes, but use the latest model of headphones. The same is true of buildings – from the outside it may appear old, but inside it will be decorated very modern.
